Working on
a dream.
I have always been in love with sweets. My natural love of baking took me from box-mix cupcakes to learning what baking from scratch is. I made cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and bread, which led me to believe my dream job was running a bake shop. My love has always been chocolate, but I never thought being a chocolatier was a career option.
At fifteen, instead of having a quinceañera, I chose to go to a chocolate-themed amusement park. After high school, I enrolled in culinary school. In an Intro to Chocolate class, I learned chocolate is temperamental, requires all my patience, and is more than a little humbling. I also learned that I love the rewarding feeling of creating a beautiful chocolate piece. After learning to see chocolate differently, and realizing how much room there is for creativity, my dream now is to run a chocolate shop.
After years of working in different kitchens, donut shops, chocolate shops, and bakeries, and earning an Associate Degree in Patisserie and Baking, I am now happily working on making my dreams a reality, one hand-painted bar at a time!
